Caribbean music, theater, art and architecture evoke passionate responses that feed the soul, the heart and the mind.
Cuban arts and culture has helped transform the identity of Miami, but those influences – along with influences from other Caribbean nations – have also left their mark throughout the Americas.
University of Miami architecture experts study the rich influences in Cuba that make it so architecturally diverse and how that architecture provides a portal that transports you back to Spanish colonial times.
Professors of humanities examine the effusive impacts theater, art and literature have made not just within the Caribbean Basin, but beyond. Other UM experts explore the impact of religion on the region. And from the University's start, student-athletes at UM and the University of Havana explored each other's culture through the art of sport.
